The R5 has one goal: to reach the top, and to do so quickly. However, as prestigious as it may be to reach the summit, this is generally not the only challenge of the day. Although races are usually not won on the descent, it is undeniable that one can easily lose. A bike designed for climbing that doesn't know how to handle a corner is like a cup of decaf coffee: disappointing. This is the fourth version of the R5 and although weight and stiffness have changed over the years, handling, behavior, and exceptional descending ability have remained unchanged since its debut.
